Sarangani Energy Corporation (SEC) owns and operates the 237 MW coal-fired power plant in Maasim, Sarangani. In 2017, MGEN Thermal expanded outside the Visayas region to include foothold in the emerging Mindanao market through a 50% stake in Alsons Thermal Energy Corporation (ATEC) — a Mindanao-based power generation holding company that has 75% equity interest in SEC.
